Training for twenty new shop stewards at Local Lodge 712

Approximately twenty of your brothers and sisters from different units of Local Lodge 712 attended training for shop stewards January 24th to 27th, 2023.

On the front line of union action, the shop steward ensures that the collective agreement is respected as well as the quality of work for his brothers and sisters.

Congratulation to all of them for their involvement and their commitment to have your rights respected at work. We want to also thank Pierre Grenier, Éric Rancourt and Philippe Comeau for their excellent work as trainers.

Participated in the training:
Christian Houle, Yan Tremblay, Alexandre Villeneuve, Jonathan Sears, Jean-Pierre Toupin, Yan Jalbert, Caroline Bélair, Stéphane Antinozzi and Martine Proulx of Bombardier Unit. Jean-François Trottier, Youssef Badham and Jérémy Sauvé of Airbus Unit.  Jean-François Gougeon of L-3 Harris Unit. Alain Renaud and Sébastien Bibeau of Stelia Unit. Mathieu Dubois and Antonio Dirrado of Howmet Unit. Seifeddine Hamdi of Fokker Elmo, and Jean Pierre Cormier of Clean international Unit.

To guarantee effective worker representation transferring knowledge and learning about different labour relations practices is essential. This is why the Quebec Machinists Council, in partnership with the affiliated Local Lodges, has made it its mission to ensure access to quality training for all IAMAW representatives.
